Anna L. Roebuck

Anna L. Roebuck, 99, Altoona, passed away Saturday at her residence.
She was born in Johnstown, daughter of the late Stephen and Techla (Vanescho) Pacovsky. On Sept. 14, 1940, she married John P. “Porkey” Roebuck in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rosanne Daniels.
Surviving are two daughters: Mary Lee Roebuck, with whom she resided, and Johnine (Dennis) Mueller of Altoona; four grandchildren: Adrienne (Gregg) Hoolahan, Erin (Patrick) Stout, Melissa (Darren) Gildea and Meghan (Carson) Mueller-Schultz; and four great-grandchildren: Cohen, Catie and Calla Hoolahan and Reese Stout.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Stephen, Joseph, Carl and George Pacovsky; and four sisters: Margaret Karl, Mary Carangelo, Elizabeth Wiesinger and Helen Mauro.
Anna was a 1938 graduate of Altoona High School, and, in 1982, she retired as an auditor for Sears, Roebuck and Co. after many years of service.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona, and its Christian Mothers. She was also a member of Golden Nuggets and the ladies auxiliaries for the Bavarian Aid Society, Unter Uns and St. Stanislaus.
Anna enjoyed polka dancing, traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Altoona, Father Lubomir Strecok celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
