Priscilla Ann Adams, 71, Altoona, formerly of Montclair, Va., died Friday at Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg after a brief illness.

She was born in New York City, N.Y., daughter of the late Richard and Joan (Ried) Phillips. Her biological mother passed away giving birth to her, and Priscilla was raised by her loving mother, Evelyn Phillips, second wife of Richard Phillips. She married the late Gary Adams, who preceded her in death in February 2017.

Surviving are her mother, Evelyn Phillips of St. Georges d’Oleson, France; a son, Richard (Kelly) Adams, of Altoona; two daughters: Elizabeth (Patrick) Rutherford of Dinwiddie, Va., and Tracy (Ken) Waldner of Stafford, Va.; eight grandchildren: Jordan, Joshua, Connor and Evelyn Adams, Adam and Evelyn Rutherford and Kaylin and Taylor Waldner; and a brother, William Phillips (Jean-Pierre Martinod) in France.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jordan Phillips.

Priscilla was a 1964 graduate of Port Chester High School, Port Chester, N.Y. In 1970, she married her husband, Gary, and in 1973, they began moving with the Marine Corps until they finally settled in Virginia 38 years ago. Priscilla retired from Shoppers Food Warehouse in 2015 after more than 20 years of providing wonderful customer service.

Priscilla will be most remembered for her outgoing personality, love of shopping, reading and collecting antique dolls — a passion that was passed down by her mother. Priscilla enjoyed surrounding herself with people, and she especially delighted in her yearly girls’ trip with friends.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Committal will be at Quantico National Cemetery, Virginia. Arrangements are by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
