Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Irvin, 53, Hollidaysburg, died Tuesday morning in the Palliative Care Unit at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Harrisburg, son of the late Ralph E. and Madaline R. (Brumbaugh) Irvin. On

May 17, 1997, he married Helen A. (Klausman) Hostler in Williamsburg, Va.

Surviving are his wife, Helen A. Irvin; three daughters: Kayla M. Irvin of Hollidaysburg, Jennifer L. Gummo and husband, Chad, of Altoona and Amanda K. Hostler and fiance, Bill Harlow, of Altoona; two granddaughters: Marissa J. and Olivia A. Gummo; a brother, Richard “Rick” Irvin and wife, Peggy, in Virginia; a sister, Diane Singer of Six Mile Run; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Irvin Sr.; and a nephew, Richard Irvin.

Jeff was a 1982 graduate of Altoona Area High School. In 2004, he retired as a heavy duty truck mechanic for Cresson Ridge Diesel after

25 years of service.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg, and he was a life-member of Lakemont Volunteer Fire Company. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 74, Altoona; Sons of the American Legion Post No. 516, Hollidaysburg; and the Allegheny Club.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday,

Dec. 17, 2017, and from

10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, Pastor Grace Marie Ransom officiating. Interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
