Atty. David M. Axinn

He was born in Philadelphia, son of Sidney and the late June (Morris) Axinn. On Oct. 11, 1997, he married S. Elizabeth Coleman in Altoona.

Surviving are his wife; his father; three children: Allan M. Axinn of Newry; Katie E. Axinn of Altoona and T. Scott (Jennifer) Harris of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Blair R. Harris; a sister, Connie (Peter) Axinn-Johnson of Silver Spring, Md.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a graduate of Abbington High School, Philadelphia, a 1976 graduate of the University of Chicago and a 1980 graduate of George Washington University Law School. He worked as a private practice attorney, retiring in 2017 with 42 years of service. He also worked as a managing attorney at Blair County Legal Services from 1981-93. He was a member of the Blair County Bar Association and the United States Chess Federation.

David enjoyed playing chess, reading and sailing.

Friends will be received from 9 until the 10 a.m. funeral service Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, Monsignor Robert Mazur officiating. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
