George W. ‘Bill’ Delozier Jr.

George W. “Bill” Delozier Jr., 87, Altoona, passed away Tuesday morning at his residence after a brief illness.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late George W. and Elizabeth R. (Chilcote) Delozier. On Oct. 2, 1954, he married Donna Long in Lakemont.

Surviving are his wife; two sons: Donald (Jodi) and Douglas (Nadine), both of Hollidaysburg; a daughter, Denise (Derek Reade) of Altoona; eight grandchildren: Brad, Dustin (Jill), Marissa, Danae, Adena, Zoe, Patrick and Alex; a great-grandson, Dexter; and a sister, Thelma Kelly of Pasadena, Calif.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Jones, Lois Carn and Shirley Decker.

Bill was a 1947 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He served seven years in the Army Reserve, and he was a self-employed mason contractor.

He was a member of Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church, where he was an active member for many years. He was a former member of Blair/Bedford Builders Association and The Beaver Dam Hunting Club. He enjoyed his garden, fishing and hunting.

At Bill’s request, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.

The family requests that donations in memory of Bill be made to Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 201 Chestnut Ave., Altoona, PA 16601.
