D. Wayne Garber

D. Wayne Garber, 67, Duncansville, died Sunday morning at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness.

He was born in Roaring Spring, son of Donald E. Garber and the late Sara L. Garber.

Surviving are his father of Hollidaysburg; two sisters: Marilyn Shannon of Hollidaysburg and Dede McCreary and husband, John, of Hollidaysburg; a brother, Donald E. Jr. and wife, Liz, of McConnellsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roger.

Wayne was a 1965 graduate of Central High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1966-69 in the Vietnam War. He retired from Roaring Spring Blank Book Co. He was a member of Duncansville VFW Post 8724 and Hollidaysburg American Legion Post 316, and he enjoyed NASCAR and fishing.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015, and from 2 until the 4:30 p.m. funeral service Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, Pastor Brad Runkle officiating. Inurnment will be made in Holsinger Cemetery, Bakers Summit.
