Burns to offer holiday open houses
State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, will host two holiday open houses at his local offices.
The first will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at his Johnstown office, 535 Fairfield Ave. (Lower Yoder Township). The second will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at his Ebensburg office, 123 W. High St.
“This is the perfect time of year to invite everyone to my offices, to listen to their concerns to find out how I can do my job better — and of course, to wish everyone a Merry Christmas,” Burns said.
Light refreshments will be served and Burns’ staff will be on hand to help provide residents with information about various state programs and services.
Juniata to host Celtic Christmas
Celebrate the season with music and tradition as Juniata Presents welcomes Sean Heely’s Celtic Christmas with a night of holiday cheer that welcomes every family.
The U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion and a cast of nationally acclaimed Celtic performers will take the stage in Rosenberger Auditorium at the Halbritter Center for the Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Juniata College. Tickets start at $20, with $12 for seniors and youth, and free admission for Juniata students with ID.
Ancient Gaelic carols and songs blended with lively Irish tunes and familiar Christmas melodies (with a Celtic twist) create a magical winter tour through the Scottish Highlands and across the rugged Irish coast.
Heely is a virtuoso fiddler, singer, harpist and composer who blends traditional music with classical finesse.
