Washington
From Mirror staff reports
A Philadelphia man allegedly looking to buy a vehicle is accused of stealing the car he was test driving and fleeing police.
Squan Edgar Washington, 25, was taken into custody Wednesday crashing the vehicle into a police vehicle, according to a report by Logan Township Police.
Washington faces more than a dozen charges including felony counts of robbery of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault, escape, theft and receiving stolen property; misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, simple assault, evading arrest and recklessly endangering another person; and summary traffic violations.
According to the report, Logan Township police were dispatched for a robbery/carjacking on the 1600 block of East Pleasant Valley Boulevard.
Police said the victim reported a male, later identified as Washington, pushed him out of his car and took off. Washington had been test-driving the vehicle to see if he wanted to buy it, the report states.
The victim’s phone was in the vehicle and police were able to track its location. Washington was found by Tyrone police at Choice Cigarette, but when Washington saw police, he attempted to flee the area, hitting a police vehicle, disabling it and the vehicle he was driving, the report states.
Washington then attempted to flee on foot and, failing to obey commands from police, was taken into custody after being struck by a Taser deployment.
He has yet to be arraigned.
