Blair police seize $40,000 in drugs

From Mirror staff reports

A traffic stop in Clearfield County led police to a Blair County motel where police seized more than $40,000 worth of illicit drugs.

On Wednesday, Clearfield Regional police and the drug task force officers conducted a traffic stop where Melissa Woodling, 36, was the passenger.

According to a press release from the Office of the Attorney General, the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and a DuBois K-9 was brought to the scene, with the result being a search warrant and the impounding of the vehicle.

The eventual search of the vehicle turned up 112.5 grams of methamphetamine valued at $4,000; 8.2 grams of crack cocaine valued at $800; eight suboxone strips worth $160; and 35 grams of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of $3,500.

Information from the traffic stop led to Blair County and further investigation into Woodling’s source, the report states.

Surveillance was set up on the Relax Inn Motel near Bellwood and when Jeff Krause, 45, exited his room and drove away, he was stopped by state police.

Room 131 was surveilled from that point forward, ensuring that no one left or arrived until a search warrant was received.

Law enforcement, including state police and the Blair County Drug Task Force, executed the search warrant and seized 675.2 grams methamphetamine with a street value of $24,000; 2 grams of cocaine, valued at $200; 4 grams crack cocaine, $400; 8.2 grams marijuana, $80; and 168 grams of suspected fentanyl, $16,800.

Woodling and Krause have been or are soon to be charged for their roles in the trafficking of controlled substances in Blair and Clearfield counties, the release states.

Starting at $3.83/week.
