Former Duncansville woman gets prison for role in Altoona-based meth ring

A former Duncansville woman has been sentenced in federal court on drug-trafficking charges.

Tonya Settlemyer, 40, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Stephanie L. Haines to 30 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, according to a Department of Justice release.

Settlemyer pleaded guilty in January to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

The decision followed a six-month Title III wiretap investigation into drug trafficking in Blair, Cambria, Centre and Clearfield counties.

According to the release, Settlemyer assisted Jason Lynn, the leader of an Altoona-based drug-trafficking organization who distributed large quantities of meth to various individuals throughout the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan D. Lusty prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
