Cresson Man accused of using gun to threaten partner

Bond allegedly reported victim to police, claiming incident made up

A Cresson man is behind bars after allegedly threatening his paramour with a gun before reporting her to police, saying she made up the incident.

Alesandro Norman Bond, 18, was arraigned July 3 by Magisterial District Judge Paula M. Aigner on two felony counts of aggravated assault, single felony counts of strangulation and person not to possess firearms and single misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, unlawful restraint and possession of an instrument of crime with intent.

He was remanded to the Blair County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Altoona police responded to a residence on the 800 block of Crawford Avenue about 1:47 p.m. April 30 after receiving a call from Bond saying the victim was post-partum and experiencing a mental health crisis. On scene, officers found that Bond had left. The victim told officers that Bond had pulled a gun on her earlier, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The victim said she was trying to leave Bond when he retrieved a gun, grabbed her by the throat, stuck the gun in her side and said “you’re not leaving.” Bond then pushed her before leaving the room. The victim told officers she was terrified and believed her life was in danger, the police report states.

In a second interview on July 2, the victim showed officers a video she recorded of herself talking to Bond at her residence. She said at the time of the recording, they hadn’t been in contact since the assault. In the video, the victim is heard asking Bond why he told police she had post-partum depression and made up the incident, to which Bond replies “I’m mentally f***ing sick.” The victim then confronted Bond about using mental health as an excuse to assault her, and Bond said “I snapped,” the report states.

Officers noted being familiar with Bond from previous interviews and were aware that he had prior gun charges and pending person not to possess charges from October 2024. A check of prior police reports showed that, on June 23, an officer responded to the victim’s residence for a disturbance. Bond was gone upon their arrival. The officer seized a glass methamphetamine pipe and a clear extended magazine, according to the affidavit.

Bond is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio on July 23.
