More information has been released about the fatal crash that occurred Saturday afternoon in Snyder Township.

According to a state police report, Duayne C. Dillon, 61, of Tyrone, was killed when his Honda motorcycle struck a Ford Fusion driven by a 77-year-old Tyrone man.

The crash occurred at 3:46 p.m. on East Pleasant Valley Boulevard, just north of the intersection with South Second Street, the report states.

Police said the driver of the Fusion had been going north on East Pleasant Valley Boulevard when he crossed the southbound lane of travel to retrieve his mail from his mailbox on the opposite side of the road.

He then pulled back out to continue north and struck the southbound motorcycle head on.

Dillon suffered a serious injury to his leg and life-saving measures were attempted by AMED, police reported. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Fusion suffered a minor injury, was treated and released.

Charges are pending an investigation, according to the report.
