Blair seeks Affordable Housing Trust Fund Advisory Board members
Blair County has two vacancies on its Affordable Housing Trust Fund Advisory Board and those interested in serving should submit talent bank applications, Commissioner Laura Burke said Thursday.
Talent bank applications are available on the county’s website at www.blairco.org.
The county’s housing trust fund advisory board monitors revenue the county receives from recording fees. It also recommends how that money is spent for housing improvement and blight demolition efforts inside the county.

County to use $10K in grant funds to purchase Taser bundles
Blair County will use $10,399 in grant funds from the Pennsylvania Counties Risk Pool (PCoRP) Loss Prevention Program to buy two Taser 10 bundles for use at the county prison.
Commissioners approved the proposed purchase on Thursday when convening their weekly meeting.
Online information indicates that Taser 10 bundles are a less-than-lethal weapon, with accessories, capable of striking a target at a maximum rate of 45 feet. The device also permits a user to deploy as many as 10 targeted probes without needing to reload.
Commissioners, by entering PCoRP in 2017, subsequently secured various types of insurance protections and applied for money available through the pool’s grant program.
