Metzgar announces re-election bid
Logan Township supervisor Joe Metzgar recently announced his candidacy for re-election.
During his term as a supervisor, Metzgar said the township budgets have been balanced while maintaining low real estate taxes — the third lowest in Blair County.
Metzgar touted his support for Logan’s police, sewer and highway departments, as well as the volunteer fire departments.
Logan Township will face continuing issues, and as each issue is presented to the Board of Supervisors, Metzgar said he does research to understand the issue presented before voting. He said he never casts an automatic vote.
As the current vice chairman, he is one of two supervisors representing Logan Township on the Central Blair Recreation Commission, the Intermunicipal Reclamation Association and the Blair County Community Action Program Board.
As a supervisor, Metzgar plans to continue to advocate for a business-friendly and resident-friendly Logan Township. He does not want to overcomplicate the community with unnecessary rules, ordinances or regulations that hinder growth, potential business expansion/relocation and daily life.
