Fire leaves six people homeless

A Thursday morning house fire in Hollidaysburg left six people without a home and the structure a total loss, according to the Lakemont and Allegheny Township volunteer fire departments’ Facebook pages.
Multiple fire departments received the call for a dwelling fire at 710 N. Juniata St. about 2:34 a.m. Responding crews were on the scene for about two hours. According to Phoenix Volunteer Fire Department’s Facebook page, the blaze was under control in about 20 minutes.
The American Red Cross was also on hand to assist the displaced families, as the duplex was deemed a complete loss. While the cause of the fire is currently unknown, the scene is under investigation by a fire marshal with the state police at Hollidaysburg.
Crews responding to the blaze included Lakemont, Allegheny Township, Phoenix, Geeseytown Community Fire Company, Duncansville Fire Company, Freedom Township Volunteer Fire Company, Friendship Fire Company of Roaring Spring and Greenwood Volunteer Fire Company.
