Morrisdale woman guilty on drug counts

Quick pleads to violating federal narcotics laws

A Morrisdale woman pleaded guilty to violating federal narcotics laws in Johnstown’s federal court on Thursday, according to United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan.

Jennifer Quick, 50, pleaded guilty to count two of a superseding indictment and counts one and two of an indictment.

A release from the U.S. Department of Justice states that between October 2019 and January 2020, Quick conspired in Pennsylvania’s Western District to “distribute and possessed with intent to distribute” about 500 grams or more of a mixture containing methamphetamine. Quick was caught on a federal wiretap obtaining quantities of meth, which she then distributed to others.

Between February 2023 and March 2023, Quick also conspired to “distribute and possessed with intent to distribute” about 40 grams or more of a mixture containing fentanyl and about 50 grams or more of a mixture containing meth, the release states.

On count two of the superseding indictment, the law allows a total sentence of a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison, with a fine of up to $10 million, or both. On counts one and two of the indictment, the law allows a total sentence of a minimum of five years and a maximum of 40 years in prison, a fine of up to $5 million, or both.

United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan scheduled sentencing for May 8.
