Unkel Joe’s location closing

Unkel Joe’s Woodshed is closing its Lock Haven location.

Plans for closing the store, which opened in 1956, were announced in October. The final day of business will be Jan. 19.

Though the original business, located at 536 High St., will be closing, the Altoona location is not.

Tim Baker, general manager of Unkel Joe’s Woodshed and grandson of co-founder Bob Baker, said the Altoona location is going strong and he expects Unkel Joe’s Woodshed is going to continue to operate for a long time.

Arya Yoga set to open

Arya Yoga Studio will open with an open house from 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 17 in the former OK Stuckey building, 400 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg.

Visitors can meet owner Anita Kozeska and her team and discover the programs Arya Yoga has to offer. Appetizers and drinks will be available.

The inaugural live music class will be held at 9 a.m. Jan. 18 and special classes begin Jan. 19.

Cafe to open at airport

Balance Restaurant will soon be opening a cafe, calling it the “Marketplace,” at the John Murtha Johnstown-Cambria County Airport.

Marketplace will sell breakfast, lunch, coffee and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as other food options. They also plan to sell items such as newspapers and magazines.

A $100,000 Community and Economic Assistance Program grant will be used to purchase new restaurant/kitchen equipment, new furniture and make renovations to the restaurant space. Marketplace is expected to open in late January.
