Blue Knob sets opening date

With the arrival of winter weather and excellent conditions for snow-making operations, Blue Knob All Seasons Resort near Claysburg plans to open on Saturday.

The resort will open Upper and Lower Mambo Alley to the Expressway Triple chairlift from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The resort will be closed on weekdays, but will reopen on the weekends until sometime mid-month, based on conditions. Summit Ski and Sports and Mueller’s Pub in the Summit Lodge will be open and a limited menu will be offered in the Summit Cafe.

Centre County firm honored

A Centre County business has been recognized by the Better Business Bureau of Western Pennsylvania with a 2024 Torch Award for Ethics.

Lifetime Floors of Rebersburg received the award in the 1-10 employee category.

Lifetime Floors, a flooring contractor, was founded in 2018 and provides service to customers throughout central Pennsylvania. Lifetime Floors provides flooring coverage for garages, patios, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, basements, warehouses and retail spaces.

The annual Torch Award for Ethics program is open to all for-profit businesses that are physically located in the 28-county service area of western Pennsylvania and meet the guidelines. Companies are evaluated against four criteria, which includes commitment to ethical practices regarding character, culture, customers and community.
