From Mirror staff reports
An Everett woman was taken into custody for allegedly punching a state trooper in the face.
The trooper took car keys from Olivia Brooke Brennan, 22, to prevent her from driving after he gave her two shots of Narcan for a suspected overdose, according to court documents.
Brennan was arraigned Nov. 22 by Magisterial District Judge Tonya Osman on a single felony count of aggravated assault and a single misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
Brennan posted $50,000 bail following a bail hearing on Nov. 26, during which Brennan’s bail conditions were changed to include the nonmonetary condition that she receive drug treatment.
According to the report, a state trooper arrived in the parking lot of Sheetz, 9402 Lincoln Highway, Snake Spring Township, Bedford County, about 7:05 p.m. Nov. 24 for a report of a possibly intoxicated female behind the wheel of a vehicle.
The officer found the female, later identified as Brennan, slumped over in her seat and he was unable to wake her. He also saw controlled substances and drug paraphernalia in plain view in Brennan’s vehicle. Through his experience, the officer believed Brennan was experiencing an opioid overdose, court documents state.
The officer gave Brennan two doses of Narcan. Then, as she began to wake up, the officer tried to secure her vehicle keys that were still in the ignition. Brennan then punched the officer once in the face with a closed fist, the report states.
Brennan was taken into custody but refused to cooperate with police.
Her preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 4 in Bedford County Central Court.
