PennDOT displays bridge plans

PennDOT is developing plans to replace the 13th Street Bridge over Gillans Run in Duncansville Borough, Blair County. For those interested in learning more about this project, a public plans display will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Duncansville Borough Municipal Building, 1146 Third Avenue, Duncansville.

The project involves replacement of the existing structure, guide rail and drainage improvements, and minor approach work.

During construction, traffic will follow a proposed detour that uses Sixth Avenue, 14th Street/Maple Hollow Road, Route 22, Leighty Lane and Hixton Road.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed projects. Representatives from PennDOT will be available to answer questions and receive comments.

Democratic women to meet

The Blair County Federation of Democratic Women will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Perkins Restaurant, 3300 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona.

All women who are registered Democrats are welcome to attend.
