The Festival of Books in the Alleghenies, a celebration of local and regional authors, storytellers, poets and more, will return to downtown Ebensburg in September.

Author applications are being accepted now through Sunday, June 30. Anyone interested in participating can apply on the Festival of Book’s website festivalofbooks.org.

The event will kick off Friday, Sept. 20, with a fundraiser reception at the Cambria County Courthouse in Ebensburg and feature award-winning author and Northern Cambria native, Jennifer Haigh.

The festival — including authors sharing stories, selling books and meeting with visitors — will be held Saturday, Sept. 21, at Veteran’s Memorial Park and the Ebensburg Cambria Public Library. There will also be writing and book-related activities for people of all ages.

A volunteer-run organization, the Festival of Books in the Alleghenies is also looking for sponsors for the 2024 event.
