Police found bags in pockets containing meth, suspected fentanyl

A Johnstown man is behind bars after Altoona police picked him up on an active warrant from Cambria County and found meth and fentanyl in his pockets.

William Eugene Huddleston, 38, was arraigned Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Paula Aigner on two felony charges of possession with intent to deliver, two misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and three misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Unable to post $100,000 bail, he was remanded to the Blair County Prison. His preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 14 before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio.

According to court documents, police saw Huddleston Tuesday on the Seventh Street Bridge and made contact with him in the Sheetz parking lot at 700 Chestnut Ave. Police were familiar with Huddleston, after encountering him the day before, the report states.

Huddleston was taken into custody on the Cambria County warrant and during a search incident to arrest, officers located a scale, which is commonly used to weigh narcotics, police said.

Huddleston was transported to the Blair County Prison, where a second search turned up a small bag containing suspected methamphetamine and a second bag containing fentanyl.

Huddleston was taken to APD where the suspected methamphetamine was NIK U tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed about 2.5 grams. The suspected fentanyl weighed about 2 grams, police reported, noting that amount could be used to package 6 to 10 bricks of product or 250-500 individual bags.
