Clearfield man arrested in burglary

Patrick allegedly broke into fire station next door

CLEARFIELD — A Philipsburg man will stand trial for burglarizing a local fire station.

Nathan Daniel Patrick, 31, was charged by state police with burglary, felony criminal trespass and misdemeanor theft for allegedly entering the building, which is only about 835 feet from his home, on Aug. 2.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, firefighters reported that someone broke in and removed an air conditioner, a case of beef sticks, cleaning supplies and a case of water.

In the surveillance video, police could see a man entering, picking up a flashlight and using it “in the commission of the crime.” Next, he picked up a box containing the air conditioner and left with it. He returned, taking the beef sticks and other items with him.

One of the firefighters identified the man as Patrick, according to the report.

Patrick waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday during centralized court in Clearfield County, sending his case on to the court of common pleas.

He is free on $25,000, unsecured bail.
