Man accused of frying pan assault
A Duncansville man faces charges after he allegedly assaulted a woman with a frying pan and a microwave, court documents stated.
Matthew Wade Smith, 35, was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Paula M. Aigner for felony charges of aggravated assault with attempts to cause serious bodily injury with extreme indifference and aggravated assault with attempts to cause bodily injury with a deadly weapon.
Police were dispatched Monday for reports of a physical domestic with reports of a suspect fleeing by foot on the 100 block of Muleshoe Estates, Allegheny Township.
Police discovered that Smith allegedly struck the female victim about the head with a frying pan and a microwave.
A kitchen knife was stuck in the wall.
In addition to the two felony counts, Smith also faces charges of recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and harassment, court documents state.
Unable to post cash bail of $75,000, Smith was remanded to Blair County Prison.
Smith is to appear for a preliminary hearing Dec. 9 before Magisterial District Judge Matthew Dunio.
Police arrest city woman on warrant
A city woman was arrested after police allegedly seized heroin while serving an arrest warrant, court documents stated.
Bobbie Jo Tilson, 44, was arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Paula M. Aigner for a felony charge of drug possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tilson was arrested after police allegedly discovered her attempting to conceal drugs in her pants while officers were serving an arrest warrant on another individual Monday on the 1600 block of Bellmeade Drive.
According to the criminal complaint, police allegedly seized 30 packets of heroin.
Police allege Tilson admitted to selling the heroin for money.
Tilson was released on unsecured bail of $25,000.
She is to appear Dec. 9 for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Matthew Dunio.
