VA offering flu shots

The Van Zandt VA Medical Center is offering drive-thru flu vaccine clinics for the next three Saturdays, with one each at its community based outpatient clinics and at the hospital in Altoona.

Enrolled veterans and those in the Caregiver Support Programs can attend, as can non-enrolled veterans who bring a copy of their DD214 discharge forms.

Vaccinations will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in DuBois; 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Huntingdon; 8 a.m. noon Saturday at Johnstown; 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 2 in Indiana; 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 9 in State College; and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.

Veterans can also obtain flu shots at primary care appointments and during walk-in hours, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until Oct. 29.
