City man wanted in stabbing arraigned

Taylor

A city man wanted on charges for a May 24 stabbing in Reade Township was brought into custody Friday, court documents stated.

Jaiquain Taylor, 27, was arraigned Friday by Cambria County Magisterial District Judge Frederick S. Creany on two felony counts of aggravated assault, among other charges, after allegedly stabbing a man five times, the criminal complaint stated.

According to state police, warrants were out for Taylor for nearly two months after troopers were initially called about 8:30 p.m. on May 24 to the 700 block of Ridge Road in Reade Township.

Taylor allegedly stabbed the victim five times after an altercation, police said, and the victim was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle where he required emergency surgery.

Taylor is currently detained at Cambria County Prison after being unable to post 10% of his $50,000 bail.

He is set to appear before Magisterial District Judge Michael Zungali on Aug. 3 for a preliminary hearing.
