WILLIAMSBURG — A Blair County dairy farm will be featured in a two-part Facebook documentary series starting Saturday, April 10.

Penn England dairy farm of Williamsburg is featured on American Dairy Association North East’s new video series, “This American Dairy Farmer.” The second part of the episode featuring Penn England airs at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to tell our story and share our farm with viewers,” said dairy farmer Yvette Longnecker. “It is important to help consumers make the connection from ‘farm to fork’ and learn about where their food comes from.”

“This American Dairy Farmer” offers a behind-the-scenes look at local dairy farms and the families that operate them, while helping viewers make a personal connection with those who produce their food.

In the show, Longnecker and her daughters discuss what it is like growing up on a dairy farm and their favorite roles and responsibilities.

The Longneckers also will give viewers an opportunity to view a cow being milked and show how they take care of their land by planting cover crops, which help to protect the soil and prevent erosion.

Both episodes can be viewed on the American Dairy Association North East Facebook page.

New episodes of “This American Dairy Farmer” will air every week through August and feature a different farm every two weeks.
