Blair planners hire new solicitor
Blair County Planning Commission members Thursday hired Fanelli Willett Law Offices to serve as their solicitor, replacing David Pertile, who recently resigned.
Fanelli Willett Law Offices currently is made up of two attorneys, Patrick Fanelli and Aimee Willett.
The commission will pay the firm $135 per hour for general solicitor work and $165 per hour for special services relating to labor matters and litigation. The firm does not charge a retainer.
Commission members also agreed to apply for up to $13,000 in funding to cover another AmeriCorps position for 2021-22.
Riley Wiesinger has been serving in the position for the last year.
“Riley has been redeveloping programs and our Walkworks program and some community cleanups. She has been instrumental in developing some new trails,” said David McFarland, planning director. “She would have the opportunity to re-apply, we would welcome her back.”
“She would be a great staff addition if we had the money. If we find someone like that, it would be nice to keep them,” said Chairman William Hall.
