THON raises $10.6M
UNIVERSITY PARK — The 2021 Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, or THON, wrapped up its virtual event Sunday, raising a total of $10,638,078.62 for Four Diamonds for pediatric cancer research.
The theme for THON 2021 was “Rise and Unify” and was modified to safeguard the safety of all Four Diamonds families, participants, dancers, volunteers and spectators during the COVID-19 pandemic, with no in-person component.
THON Weekend took place over a 46-hour live-stream featuring many of the events that usually take place at THON, including line dances, performances and the annual pep rally.
Billed as the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, THON supports Four Diamonds to fund pediatric cancer research and support children and families fighting childhood cancer.
