Woman faces theft, firearm counts
An Altoona woman was arraigned on theft and firearm charges Friday in connection with a case against a man accused of selling bath salts from a storage unit, court documents stated.
Brandi Rupert, 29, allegedly helped Tyler Bartley sell a stolen handgun around June 2020, according to court documents.
Magisterial District Judge Ben Jones arraigned Rupert, setting her cash bail at $20,000, which she was unable to post, court documents stated.
Additionally, Rupert was charged with helping sell a stolen firearm to a person who is prohibited from possessing firearms, police reported.
According to a criminal complaint, Rupert acted as the go-between in the sale, transporting the firearm to the buyer and returning to Bartley with the money.
Rupert is currently detained at Blair County Prison.
