Cambria expansion starts

EBENSBURG — A $1.1 million broadband expansion project kicked off Wednesday afternoon with a ribbon-cutting at James Hite Farms, 385 Eckenrode Mill Road, Patton.

On Sept. 17, Cambria County commissioners unanimously approved a contract with In the Stix to expand broadband service throughout Cambria County. The upgrade will be funded through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.

“This is an important first step for expanding broadband throughout Cambria County. We have worked to build a new foundation to provide greater access,” said President Commissioner Thomas C. Chernisky.
