Blair has 11 new polling sites

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Blair County has made an additional polling location change for today’s election, in addition to 10 polling changes announced previously.

Allegheny Township, District 1, voters, who last voted at the Hollidaysburg Readiness Center, will vote at a poll set up at the Meadows Plaza, 1381 Plank Road, behind the Sheetz store at the Meadows Intersection. Voters should look for signs in connection with the new location.

The other 10 polling locations, previously reviewed and announced in October, are as follows:

— Altoona 2nd Ward, 2nd Precinct: Ballots will be cast at the Altoona Firehall 3, at 530 Crawford Ave., instead of The ARC of Blair County building.

— Altoona 4th Ward, 1st Precinct: Ballots will be cast at the Center City Church, 801 Pleasant Valley Blvd., instead of the Altoona Area High School auditorium.

— Altoona 6th Ward, 4th Precinct: Ballots will be cast at the Altoona Bible Church, 3017 Union Ave., instead of the Jaggard United Methodist Church.

— Altoona 8th Ward, 2nd Precinct: Ballots will be cast at the Trans4mation Church, 1001 S. First St., instead of The ARC of Blair County building.

— Altoona 14th Ward, 1st Precinct: Ballots will be cast at the Altoona Bible Church, 3017 Union Ave., instead of Woodrow Wilson Gardens.

— Freedom Township, 1st District: Ballots will be cast at the Freedom Township Volunteer Firehall, 139 Municipal St., East Freedom, instead of the Blue Knob Airport.

— Hollidaysburg Ward 5: Ballots will be cast at St. Mary’s Church Social Hall, 312 Clark St., Hollidaysburg, instead of The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.

— Hollidaysburg Ward 8: Ballots will be cast at the Hollidaysburg Area Public Library, 1 Furnace St., Hollidaysburg, instead of Blair Regional YMCA.

— North Woodbury Township: Ballots will be cast at Valley Rural Electric Cooperative, 2585 Cove Mountain Road, Martinsburg, instead of Homewood at Martinsburg.

— Tyrone Ward 2: Ballots will be cast at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1650 Clay Ave., Tyrone, instead of Epworth Manor.

When the elections board reviewed the proposed changes in mid-October, most of the proposed changes were linked to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

To assist voters with new polling locations, signs are to be posted at the former locations with information on where to find their polls.

The county published the locations of all 93 voting locations in Friday’s Altoona Mirror.

Voting poll locations are also posted on the county’s website at www.blairco.org. They also are available through the state’s www.votespa.com website.
