Explosion levels Huntingdon home

Family members look through the rubble of a home at 2312 Highland Ave. in Huntingdon after it collapsed on its owner when it exploded about 8:30 a.m. Monday. According to WJAC, homeowner Michele Shovlin was reportedly inside the home when the explosion happened. When first responders arrived on scene, Shovlin was trying to crawl out of the basement and two neighbors were able to pull her out of her home. She was taken to UPMC Altoona for treatment of burn injuries. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation. Officials said natural gas does not run through the area, and one neighbor reported that the home’s propane tanks were full after the explosion. (Mirror photo by Patrick Waksmunski)
