Trucks, trailers damaged in fire

From Mirror staff reports

A fire that may have started in the fuse panel of a parked tractor-trailer cab between Bellwood and Tipton caused about $50,000 damage Tuesday evening, according to Excelsior Fire Department No. 1 of Bellwood Chief Dave McCloskey.

The fire destroyed that cab and another next to it and damaged a pair of trailers at R.J. Clark Trucking on East Pleasant Valley Boulevard, McCloskey said.

The cab that caught fire had been parked not long before, and there didn’t seem to be anything wrong, according to McCloskey.

The trucking company has insurance, McCloskey said.

Firefighters arrived about 8 p.m. and stayed for about two hours, McCloskey said.

Pinecroft Volunteer Fire Company and Neptune Fire Company No. 1 of Tyrone assisted.

Starting at $2.99/week.
