Area firms among best places to work

Five area companies are included in the 2020 list of Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania.

The list of the 100 companies represents roughly 25,000 employees of 43 small, 30 medium and 27 large-sized companies. In order to be eligible for this process, companies had to be a for-profit or nonprofit business, be publicly or privately held, have a business facility in Pennsylvania, employ at least 15 people working in Pennsylvania and be in business for at least one year.

Area companies on the list include SilcoTek Corp. of Bellefonte in the small business category; 1st Summit Bank of Johnstown and Avail Technologies Inc. of State College in the medium size category; and Best Line Equipment of State College and Concurrent Technologies Corp. of Johnstown in the large companies category.

“While our format has changed, the innovation and dedication of these companies in creating outstanding workplaces continue to inspire us as we celebrate the 100 best companies in Pennsylvania in partnership with Central Penn Business Journal and the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development,” Ryan C. Unger, President and CEO at Team Pennsylvania, said in a statement.
