Woman accused of assault
An argument over a photo album has landed a Blair Township woman in jail.
Andria A. Cochran, 26, was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly choked another woman after the woman confronted her about Cochran having her photo album, according to charges filed by Blair Township police.
Officers responded to 16000 Dunnings Highway just before 7 p.m. and reported that the victim had abrasions on her neck and the start of bruising on her right elbow from when she fell down while trying to get away from Cochran.
Police said Cochran claimed she choked the woman after she was attacked and that she was defending herself.
The victim told police she did try to punch Cochran as she was holding onto her neck in an attempt to get her to stop.
Police said Cochran screamed at the victim during the altercation and at one point said, “You’re dead.”
Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller set bail for Cochran at 10 percent of $15,000 on Wednesday morning and she remains in Blair County Prison. She is charged with misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment.
A preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Paula Aigner is slated for Tuesday.
