Prigg pleads in assault case
Tyrone man accused of having sex with teen
CLEARFIELD — A Tyrone man accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl will spend at least nine months in the Clearfield County Jail.
Dante Malik Prigg, 23, pleaded guilty before Judge Paul E. Cherry to felony counts of statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors and obscene/sexual material-dissemination to minors as well as one misdemeanor count of corruption of minors.
The charges stem from an incident on June 24 at Curwensville Lake in Pike Township, Clearfield County.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the victim met Prigg the day before at the lake where they exchanged contact information.
Later that night, Prigg messaged her, complimenting her looks and then sent her a naked picture of himself, police said.
She met up with Prigg the next day at the lake where she got into his vehicle. He reportedly pushed her head to his crotch and had her perform oral sex.
Investigators were able to recover several messages from the victim’s iPod including one that said “so if we did do anything like you wouldn’t try and get me caught up or nothing would you” because she was so young, according to the criminal complaint.
In an interview with police, Prigg reportedly admitted to touching the girl and having sexual contact with her. He also confessed to sending her a nude photo and confirmed she told him she was only 15 years old, according to the report.
Cherry sentenced Prigg to nine months to two years in the county jail with four years’ consecutive probation. He must complete the Project Point of Life counseling program.
Although he is required to register his address with law enforcement under Megan’s Law, he was not determined to be a sexually violent predator.
Prigg was also ordered not to have any unsupervised contact with anyone under 18 years old.
