Group collecting food, appliances

The Laurel Highlands Historical Village is collecting food and paper products for area veterans and the elderly who are shut in and need the help.

Food drop off locations include Stagers in Portage; Rizzo Chiropractic at 400 N. Center St., Ebensburg; Hoss’s Steak & Sea House in Ebensburg; Foodland in Nanty Glo; and the Imler’s Outlet Store on Route 764 in Duncansville.

The Historical Village also is collecting household items in good working order, such as blenders, electric skillets, crock pots, coffee pots.

Food items needed are canned goods, canned meats, heat and serve meals, rice meals, snacks, cheese, meat, drinks, coffee, drink mixes, paper goods and hygiene products.
