Area food banks remain open

— The Altoona Food Bank, 2100 Sixth Ave., will be open from 9:15 a.m. to noon each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Clients will receive a box or bag of prepackaged food at the side door on 21st Street. The front door will be closed for public use.

This arrangement is to protect patrons as well as volunteers. Updated information will be posted to the PA2-1-1 website and social media platforms. For information, call 942-8415.

— St. Vincent dePaul Assumption Chapel Food Pantry, 1523 Adams Ave., Altoona, is closed until April 4. Hours will be from 8:30 to

10:30 a.m. April 7 and April 9. For information, call 943-7962.

— Salvation Army – Altoona Worship and Service Center food bank, 1813 Sixth Ave., will be open 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Clients must make appointments first by calling 942-8104. Photo IDs are required. Donations can be made at https://wpa.salvationarmy.org/

— American Rescue Workers, Hollidaysburg, 811 Scotch Valley Road, is open for clients from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, contact 695-0762.

— The Roaring Spring Food Pantry, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 401 E. Main St., will be open 1 to 3 p.m. each Thursday. Services are available to Roaring Spring borough and Taylor township residents. Proof of residency and proof of income (a bank statement) are required. For information, call 224-2434.

— Martinsburg Food Pantry, located in the old borough building, 133 E. Allegheny St., will be open from 9 to 11 a.m., April 2 and April 16 (every first and third Thursday of the month). Services are available to residents of Martinsburg, Huston, North Woodbury and Taylor Townships.

Bags will be prepared ahead of time and volunteers will help clients choose the goods to take home. Clients are to bring food vouchers. For information, call 793-3958.

— Claysburg Area Food Bank, at the Claysburg Church of the Brethren, 577 S. Bedford St., is open from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each Thursday. Services are available to residents of Newry, East Freedom, Roaring Spring and Claysburg. For information, call 239-2440. For emergency food supplies, contact the church office.
