Man sentenced in benefit fraud

JOHNSTOWN — A resident of DuBois will spend three years on probation with 180 days of home detention on his conviction of Social Security fraud, U.S. Attorney Scott W. Brady said.

Daniel P. McIntosh, 41, of 218 Hubert St., DuBois, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Kim R. Gibson.

According to information presented to the court, from Aug. 1, 2014, to July 31, 2016, McIntosh received and converted falsely to his own use a total of $41,530, which represents about 115 separate Social Security Administration benefit payments made to him and also to him as representative payee for his wife and minor children, to which he or they were not entitled.
