Blair hears request to broadcast meetings

Tyrone Borough councilman wants to tape meetings

HOLLIDAYSBURG — A Tyrone Borough councilman has advised the Blair County commissioners that he would like to start videotaping their meetings for live internet broadcast and replay availability.

David Snyder, owner of Ingenuity Media Studio, presented the request during Tuesday’s weekly commissioners meeting. He said he believed his constituents in Tyrone would be interested in watching the commissioners’ meetings, which he will videotape when attending.

While the state’s Open Meetings Law allows video and audio recordings at all public meetings, Snyder said he preferred to advise commissioners of his intentions and ask for a response.

“We’ll take it under consideration,” Chairman Bruce Erb told Snyder.

Snyder currently maintains a Facebook page where he regularly posts information about Tyrone and its governmental operations.
