Hopewell Bridge work to start

HRI Inc. of State College will set new temporary traffic signals on March 2 on Route 26 for the Hopewell Bridge Replacement Project in Hopewell Borough, Bedford County, PennDOT said.

On Monday, traffic will be under daylight flagging as the new traffic signals are set. They will be placed on Route 26 from 100 feet south of the new bridge to Steele’s Tavern. Also, single lane traffic will continue on Route 915 Hopewell from the senior center to Route 26 under existing temporary signals.

The contractor will be hauling sections of the existing bridge out of the project area starting Monday.

All work on the $11.5 million project is expected to be completed by July.
