Altoona police probe Sunday morning shooting
Police in Altoona continue to investigate a confrontation early Sunday morning over an alleged drug debt that led to the shooting of a 28-year-old.
The 28-year-old Duncansville man suffered a non-life threaning injury after he was shot in the foot by a gunman at just after 6 a.m. Sunday. The 28-year-old was with a 25-year-old Altoona man who had gone to the area of Lexington Avenue and 11th Street to meet someone about a drug debt.
Police said the 25-year-old was pistol whipped before he and the 28-year-old ran away and shots were fired on the 900 block of Lexington Avenue. The 28-year-old man was struck in the foot by a .40 caliber round.
The investigation remains ongoing, police said Monday.
