Police: Dog thwarted potential burglary
Freedom Township police are looking for a would-be burglar who was thwarted by the family dog at a home on Cream Hollow Road.
Police said it was Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. when someone broke in through the front door of a home on the 300 block of Cream Hollow and encountered the family dog.
The dog was struck on the head with a blunt object but police believe the animal deterred the intruder, who then fled with a possible dog bite injury.
Police said the dog is in stable condition and recovering after being treated by a veterinarian.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Freedom Township police at 695-8545.
