Missing Blair County woman, kids found

A missing woman from Blair County who made a “frantic” phone call to police Monday night was found safe with her two children Tuesday morning. Police took the man found with them into custody.

A motorist called 911 about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday after spotting a vehicle that matched the police description of a Chevrolet Avalanche believed to be used by Edgar Lee Decker Jr., 56, of Roaring Spring, to travel with Alicia Rose Brumbaugh, 31, of Imler, and her two children.

State police troopers stopped a vehicle along Route 422 at Oakland Ave., White Township, Indiana County, and found Brumbaugh, Decker and the two children inside.

Decker, who had an active warrant against him for retail theft, was taken into custody.

He is Brumbaugh’s father-in-law, police reports state, and he was recently released from rehab.

Brumbaugh had last been seen at about 4 a.m., Monday, and called police from a Walmart parking lot in Indiana County at about 11:30 p.m. Monday The phone call ended before police could gather more information about any possible travel destination or direction.

In a Twitter post, state police at Indiana County thanked the public and the motorist for their help in finding the vehicle.
