Man sentenced for home break-in

Jozefig stole ex-girlfriend’s dog

CLEARFIELD — A Philipsburg man will be spend up to three years in state prison for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s Clearfield County home.

Police say Cruz Connagher Jozefik, 27, entered the Brisbin Borough residence on June 16 and stole a dog before fleeing in an unknown direction. He then sent a text saying he had the dog, according to the affidavit.

During colloquy court Monday, the girl’s mother told Judge Paul Cherry that this was actually the third time he had broken into their residence.

After the first time, they added a dead bolt to the door, but then he came in through a basement window, she said.

Her daughter and her grandchildren are afraid, she explained with the children being especially afraid that something is going to happen to their mother.

Prior to sentencing, Jozefik did apologize for his actions.

Cherry sentenced Jozefik to nine months to three years in state prison for felony criminal trespass and misdemeanor theft by unlawful taking.
