Johnstown woman to appear in court

Clifford arrested after traffic stop

A woman who police said had more than two dozen packets of Suboxone in her purse is due in court next week.

Christy J. Clifford, 35, of Johnstown, was arrested Nov. 9 by Blair Township police on outstanding warrants in Cambria County and Essex County, N.J., after a traffic stop on Dunnings Highway at Harker’s Farm Lane in Newry.

A search of her purse allegedly turned up 26 packets of Suboxone, according to charges filed before Magisterial District Judge Paula Aigner.

Police noted that the Suboxone did not bear any prescription information and although Clifford claimed she had one, she was unable to produce it.

Clifford was booked on one count of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and lodged in Blair County Prison. Clifford’s bail was set at $7,500 cash, and she is scheduled to appear at District Court in Hollidaysburg on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing on the charge.
