Police: Man found drunk behind wheel

James C. McLean, 38, Altoona, has been charged with DUI after state police found him slumped over the wheel of a vehicle parked near 15th Street and 16th Avenue, with the motor running and the headlights on, early on Aug. 11, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

A test found that McLean had a blood alcohol level of 0.118 percent, 0.038 percent higher than the legal limit.

McLean was driving with a license that had been suspended because of a previous DUI, according to the affidavit.

McLean has had four DUIs since 2008, according to the affidavit.

Police had to make several attempts to wake him when they found him in the vehicle, according to the document.

McLean admitted to having consumed a six pack of beer before driving, following an argument with his girlfriend, according to the affidavit.

A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 12.
