Hollsopple man faces DUI charge

Justin T. Mates, 39, Hollsopple, has been charged with DUI and reckless driving after he crashed his vehicle while southbound on I-99 near Cross Keys on the evening of Sept. 27, an affidavit of probable cause filed by state police said.

Police found the vehicle on its passenger side in the median and Mates with glassy, bloodshot eyes and smelling of alcohol, according to the affidavit.

Mates refused a breathalyzer test and refused to allow his blood to be drawn for an alcohol test, the affidavit stated.

He was treated at the scene by ambulance workers.

A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 12.
