State police investigating multiple phone scams
State police at Bedford and Huntingdon are investigating scams.
On Sept. 26, an Everett man reportedly was scammed into buying $1,200 in Amazon gift cards and sending the serial numbers to someone he was chatting with on Google chats.
Also in Bedford County on Sept. 26, an elderly female said she received a call from someone posing as a representative of Century Link internet asking her to provide credit card information, which she did. Fraudulent charges were then made on her card.
In Huntingdon County, troopers on Oct. 4 received a report that a Petersburg woman bought a $400 Game Stop gift card and gave the card information to an unknown person, who she thought was programming an anti-virus program on her computer.
Allegedly intoxicated man cited for streaking
An Altoona man was cited by state police at Hollidaysburg on a charge of disorderly conduct following a report of a naked white male, apparently under the influence, streaking around the Cove Lane, Roaring Spring, area.
State police say they located Colton Brumbaugh, 18, of Altoona, near Spring Cove Middle School.
He was transported to UPMC Altoona and then cited.
